FAQs

How do I book an appointment?

You can make contact by phone or email, and we will get back to you within a couple of days to discuss your requirements.

How do I know if therapy is for me?

Dr Alice is happy to offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Once you have started therapy there is no obligation to continue although it is usually helpful if this is discussed within the sessions and a plan is made to either finish, take a break or reduce the frequency of sessions.

What happens during the first session?

We always begin with an initial consultation appointment which is an opportunity to discuss your issues in more detail, talk through relevant background information and begin the process of planning for ongoing sessions. This typically involves setting goals and identifying how many sessions might be indicated.

How long are the sessions?

All appointments are 50 minutes.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no fixed number or requirement to commit. Dr Alice usually works on a short to medium term basis and typically sees clients weekly or fortnightly for between 8 and 20 sessions.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Please let us know as soon as possible so your slot can be offered to another client. Appointments cancelled within 24hrs of the scheduled slot are billed in full.

Where is your clinic?

Dr Alice has a weekly clinic in central Oxted on Wednesdays, for in person appointments. Please see the link below for more information. https://www.baumhausspaces.com

Do you offer remote consultations?

Yes, Dr Alice is happy to offer online appointments either exclusively or in combination with face to face sessions. We will discuss vour preferences as part of our initial contact.

Can I use my health insurance policy to cover the cost of sessions?

It is often possible to do this although you should check first with your provider. Dr Alice is registered with many of the main insurers including BUPA and AXA Health.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can contact us directly or after speaking with your GP or insurer.

Are reports available?

Update letters for GPs and insurers are included, where required and with your consent. All other letters and reports incur an additional fee, and this will be discussed with you should the need arise.
